CAVITE, PHILIPPINES - Sisters of Mary of Banneux, Inc. (SMBI) celebrated the Buwan ng Wika (Filipino Language Month) on September 1, 2026, with the theme “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Tamang Impormasyon” (“Filipino Language and AI: A Tool for Research and a Bridge to Accurate Information.”)
The activity aimed to highlight the importance of the Filipino language as a foundation of knowledge in the age of modern technology.
The program opened with a flag ceremony, prayer, and welcome remarks led by the school principal, Sr. Myrene B. Arambulo, SM. This was followed by the awarding of medals and certificates to winners of various competitions.
Students showcased their talents in the following contests: Speech Choir, Oration, Declamation, TugSayAwit (music-dance-song), and Cultural Dance.
At the conclusion of the program, Mrs. Lanie H. Bonganciso delivered the closing message. She expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped and supported the celebration’s success, and reminded the students about the proper use of modern technology such as AI.
